Jamilah leads 43 in state awards
MIRI: The chief minister’s wife Datin Patinggi Dato Jamilah Anu led 43 public figures to receive their state awards from Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in conjunction with his 80th birthday yesterday.
She was awarded ‘Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang’ which carries the title ‘Datuk Amar’.
Minister of Public Utilities Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi, federal Suditor-General Tan Sri Datuk Ambrin Bujang and corporate figure Tan Sri Bustari Yusuf were awarded Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak (PNBS) which carries the title ‘Dato Sri’.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Sadong MP Nancy Shukri was awarded ‘Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang’ (PGBK) which carries the title ‘Datuk’.
Recipients of the ‘Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak (DJBS) which carries the title ‘Datu’ were the newly appointed deputy state secretary Dr Sabariah Putit, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Public Utilities Ubaidillah Abdul Latip and Native Court chief registrar Ganie Ugay.
Datin Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang was among seven to receive ‘Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS) which carries the title ‘Dato’.

Corrine and chief minister’s principal private secretary Wan Khalik Wan Muhammad were awarded ‘Johan Bintang Kenyalang’ (JBK).
